'walking / mapping'
Lydia explores places that are rapidly flooding and eroding - on foot often with low-fi contraptions attached to her body – and transforms them into earthy “matter maps”. These works use print, drawing, installation and painting. She’ll bring some of the 300 million year old earth she makes into ink.
Lydia was shortlisted for the 2025 John Ruskin Prize, a recipient of the Burton Environmental Art commission in 2019, and a GroundWork Gallery resident artist in 2024 exploring themes of extraction.
