In this workshop Nigel will demonstate in Acrylics and Gouache ….explaining the benefits and differences of both!

Nigel works from sketches and photos to capture nature at its best. Lots of sunshine and dramatic shadows.

The session will focus on the development of a painting from initial sketches through to a final work on paper. During this process we will explore the use of mark making and colour to create a lively and expressive response to the theme of woodland landscape. You will have the opportunity to work in both acrylic and gouache, looking at the difference and similarities between the two mediums.

All day 10-4 pm . Doors open at 9.30.

Bring your lunch and all drinks required. (…no kettle)

Materials

Bring your painting equipment with you, brushes, acrylics etc.

Tape, water pots.

 I will provide some gouache paints if needed and paper to work on for both studies and final pieces.

If you wish to work with an easel that would be fine.

I will also bring images to work from.
