Monet's Winter Scenes- Oils with Catherine Knight

During this workshop Catherine will explore the work of Claude Monet, and particularly his lesser-known snow filled landscapes from his trip to Norway in 1895.

We will experiment with colour mixing, emulate and indulge in his oil painting techniques and learn how he created his distinctive brush marks.

In the afternoon there will be a chance to paint your own snow landscape so bring along some source photos or sketches to use as a starting point!

Catherine Knight is a painter based at BV Studio Bristol. Since graduating from an MA in Fine Art at Bath Spa University in 2008 with a distinction, she has been exhibited widely.

Her work is distinctive for its vibrant use of colour and evocative landscapes based on Iceland and Finland.

"Anyone feeling creatively stuck should do a course with Catherine. Your inspiration will return!"
