LOOKING AT LANDSCAPE : THINKING WITH PAINT
Join abstract landscape painter Georgina Towler for a day of painting a little differently.….
This session will explore how we can use the ambiguities found in landscape as catalyst for contemporary painting, leaving you with ideas and techniques to help you loosen up your own painting practice.
During the morning, we will take a short walk to some local woodland for a drawing session; exploring new ways of looking, drawing and gathering inspiration. In the afternoon, we will use the imagery we've gathered to experiment with painting techniques. Georgina will be encouraging you to follow the painting's lead and help you to push your work in a new direction. Throughout the day there will also be time for conversation and discussion around the nature of abstraction within the wider painting canon.
